It involves identifying and addressing conflicts or "clashes" between different elements of a project's design. These clashes can arise between architectural, structural, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) components, leading to potential delays, increased costs, and compromised safety if not resolved early.

Types of Clashes

• Hard Clashes: These occur when two or more objects occupy the same physical space. For example, a duct passing through a beam.
• Soft Clashes: These involve spatial or clearance issues where objects do not physically intersect but violate spatial constraints or tolerances. An example is an HVAC system that requires more clearance than provided.
• Workflow or 4D Clashes: These are related to scheduling and sequencing issues. For instance, a construction sequence clash where a piece of equipment is scheduled for installation before the necessary structural support is in place.
